Junkyard Playscape
Inclusive play that inspires risk-taking and social growth for all children.
The aim of this project was to create an inclusive and accessible playground designed for all children, ensuring that every child, regardless of their abilities or background, can experience the joy of play. The playground encourages children to take risks, experiment, explore, and think creatively, fostering an environment that nurtures social development and collaborative play.
The design emphasises risky play, allowing children to safely test their limits and build confidence through features like climbing structures and balance beams that promote strength and coordination.
Additionally, inclusive design principles ensure accessibility for all abilities. Ramps, sensory paths, and adaptable play equipment foster interaction among diverse needs, creating a vibrant community space where children can connect and thrive together.
